Welcome to Toravaig House Hotel and Restaurant on the beautiful Scottish Isle of Skye.
"Winner of Scottish Island Hotel of the Year" 2005 and 2007-Hotel Review.
Conde Nast Johansens "Most Excellent Service UK" Award for 2006
The hotel was bought and completely refurbished in 2004. The Restaurant has quickly earned a reputation for excellence and has been awarded an AA red Rosette and Hotel Review Silver Plate for dining. We serve fresh local produce and the best of meat, poultry and game. All dishes are home made and freshly prepared to order. There is a fine selection of malt whiskies and fine wines to accompany the meal.
We have a small team of dedicated staff on hand to ensure the smooth running of the operation.
Toravaig offers 9 immaculate and plush rooms. Of particular note are the beautiful fabrics and wallcoverings. Each room is named after an island and the hotel offers a couple of smaller doubles or singles, a twin and a range of doubles. All rooms have TVs, many flat-screen, complimentary miniature of Toravaig malt whisky, fruit bowl, Isle of Skye bottled water, nice toiletries and radio or CD/radio, plus hospitality tray.
Inside the hotel the plush Sitting Room with green marble fireplace, grand piano, sumptuous sofas and expensive fabrics is through one door opposite reception. At night guests relax by the crackling fire – glimpsing the Iona Restaurant through bevelled glass-paned doors – and order dinner over drinks. Within the restaurant there is a small dispensary bar (with a good range of malts and liqueurs) but there is no bar room as such. Almost certainly you’ll be welcomed warmly by Anne or Ken and shown up to your room.
Ken and Anne have the hotel open for business during the winter months as well as summer
Small weddings and functions are catered for and we welcome your enquiries for further information and to discuss what we can offer.
‘Lovely, boutique-like. Assuredly friendly, helpful hosts. Spotless, tasteful rooms. Yacht trips!’
